This year, our DECA chapter has had an incredible season, with 155 students competing at SCDC and 30+ students qualifying for ICDC in Orlando, Florida! These achievements reflect the hard work of our students and the unwavering support of our community.

However, attending ICDC comes with significant costs, and we need your help to ensure every qualified student has the opportunity to compete. The average cost per student is $1,200+, covering competition fees, travel, and accommodations.

The Camas High School DECA Chapter has been a part of the school and community for over 30 years. Over the past ten years our program has grown from about 100 members to over 250 members.  

Our students in our program gain real world skills that prepare them for college and beyond.  These DECA experiences are developed through our classroom curriculum that focuses on market research, role-play situations in marketing career areas, job interviews, project  management and selling techniques.  These learned skills then prepare our students to compete at the district, state, and international level against other DECA members. 

This year we took 250 students to Area 9 competition (prior years 125-140), 121 students to SCDC (prior years 65-90) and 41 (prior years 20-30) students to ICDC. The conference registration fees, lodging and transportation costs for the 2024-25 school year exceeded $100,000 because our sheer numbers continue to go up. 

Our chapter has done fundraising with our annual Coffee Project and our student-run Lunch Box also assists us each year, but with increasing numbers we are in need to find other means of revenue to keep these costs down so ALL students can participate, no matter their financial situation. The average cost for a student to attend SCDC is around $500 and $1000+ to attend ICDC.  

Our hope is to gain sponsorships so we can offer student scholarships for those who are financially dis-advantaged and also to help keep the overall trip costs down for all students.  If you are interested in sponsoring our program or know someone who might be, please email us.
